Observatory Where are we heading? Despite the fact that the world scientific community and leading organisations are predicting very grave long-term consequences of continuous unsustainable behaviour, societies are still widely ignorant and passive of fundamental issues of their common, and very near future. The Observatory is presenting avantgarde scientific perspectives on the courses of societies and the global commons. Short, it comes close to a Catastrophe ABC. The sudden macrochanges in our world will be the frameworks of our lives and political decision-making in the near future. Knowledge of manifesting human and ecological macro-disaster trends is an indispensable prerequisite for realistic awareness, understanding and sound decision-making for 21st century citizens and leaders, also before the identified disasters become reality.
